Privacy Policy
The short version
- Your tuition data is saved in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. We do not have a database and we never receive a copy of it.
- The app can only open the files it creates in your Drive. It cannot see your other files, emails or contacts.
- We do not sell, share or use your data for advertising.
What the app accesses
When you sign in with Google, you allow Tuition Tracker to:
- See your name and email address (Google scopes
openid,email,profile), so the app knows which tracker is yours and can show who is signed in. - See, edit, create and delete only the Google Drive files you use with this app (scope
drive.file). The app uses this to create one folder in your Drive containing your tracker Sheet, a Receipts folder and a Late Notices folder, and to read and update those files.
The app does not request access to the rest of your Google Drive, your Gmail, or anything else in your Google account.
What is stored, and where
- In your Google Drive: the students, payments, settings and PDF receipts or notices you create. You own this data and can open, download, share or delete it at any time from Google Drive.
- On your device: a working copy of your tracker data is kept in your browser so the app opens quickly and works with weak internet. "Sign out of this device" in Settings removes it.
- On our servers: nothing. The website only delivers the app's files to your browser. Your browser talks directly to Google.
WhatsApp messages and receipt links
WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp on your own device with a message already written. You choose whether to send it. If "Add PDF receipt / notice links" is switched on in Settings, new receipt and notice PDFs are set so that anyone with the link can view them, so parents can open them from WhatsApp. You can switch this off at any time.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Tuition Tracker's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is used only to provide the app's features to you. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not transferred to anyone else, and no person at Elevate Digital reads it unless you ask us for help and share it with us yourself.
Removing access and deleting data
- To stop the app accessing your Google account, remove "Tuition Tracker" at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To delete your data, delete the "Tuition Tracker" folder from your Google Drive and empty the Drive Trash.
- To remove the copy on a device, use Settings → System → Sign out of this device.
Children's information
The app is used by teachers to manage their own records, which may include students' names and parents' phone numbers. Teachers are responsible for having permission to keep these records. The app does not contact students or parents unless the teacher chooses to send a message.
